What it is

Perplexity for Islamic content. Millions of pages of Islamic knowledge are indexed. Users ask questions in a chat interface to get answers with citations.

There have been many cases of others building this before, but as GPT wrappers that are hallucination prone and often fall short on accuracy + depth.

We think that (insha'Allah) we have a shot of building something great.

Why

Our team built Usul.ai (AI tool for Islamic Research) and learned quickly that a lot of the tooling would also be beneficial to the Muslim public, not just researchers.

Usul grew to 300K monthly visits in under 2 years, mostly driven by the AI feature.

In addition:

  • Muslims are already using ChatGPT for Islamic Questions
  • AI is creating a new paradigm for interacting with technology

Team

Abdellatif Abdelfattah (CEO): Previously co-founder of Tarteel, Head of Engineering Quran.com, Founder of Usul.ai. Ex-engineer at Twitter and NASA.

Ahmed Riad (CTO): Previously engineer at Quran.com, founding engineer at Usul.ai. Co-founder of agentset.ai and remail.ai

Youssef Eleshy (Head of Design): Previously designer at Fireflies, Tradehub, and Trella.

Asks

  1. Looking for a head of growth/content to lead our GTM efforts. Ideally the candidate has experience creating content themselves and understands the dynamics of early stage startups.
  2. Brand designer to help us with the logo and branding
